i am not israeli nor iraqi, i am half indian half aussie...but i still think that judging from the trailers for both films (i couldnt find one for turtles can fly to share with you), they are going to be films all people should see, at least to have some foreign culture we dont experience everyday.
According to Eurogamer, an American gamer forked over $100 grand for a virtual space station in the online RPG Project Entropia. The space station sits in the Paradise V Asteroid Belt and includes mining and hunting tax rights, a mall, billboards and the right to name the space station whatever the hell he chooses.
Over 236,000 players are registered and swap real US dollars for fake Project Entropia dollars. This isn't the first piece of real estate to command big bucks. Last year, some dude bought a PE island for $26,500.
God, why do you have to give idiots all the money?

Nineteen year-old Robert Anthony Cannon pleaded guilty for the 2004 beating deaths of six people. In exchange for life in prison without parole, he has agreed to testify against his partners in crime-- two other nineteen year-old men (Jerone Hunter and Michael Salas) and a 28 year-old "mastermind" (Troy Victorino) .
According to MSN, Cannon pleaded guilty to 14 charges, including six counts of capital first-degree murder, five counts of abusing a human corpse, one count of armed burglary and one count of conspiracy to commit a crime.
According to the police, Victorino was kicked out of a house where he was squatting. He then organized the attack to retrieve his beloved Xbox that had been left behind. The men then burst into the home with baseball bats and bludgeoned the victims, along with a small dog. All have confessed, but Victorino, who claims to have been passed out in a local bar when the killings took place.
The state of Florida is seeking the death penalty against Hunter, Salas and Victorino.

David Swenson of 3M Corporation describes an anomaly where workers encountered a strange "invisible wall" in the area under a fast-moving sheet of electrically charged polypropelene film in a factory. This "invisible wall" was strong enough to prevent humans from passing through. A person near this "wall" was unable to turn, and so had to walk backwards to retreat from it.
This occurred in late summer in South Carolina, in extremely high humidity. Polypropelene (PP) film on 50K ft. rolls 20ft wide was being slit and transferred to multiple smaller spools. The film was taken off the main roll at high speed, flowed upwards 20ft to overhead rollers, passed horizontally 20ft and then downwards to the slitting device, where it was spooled onto shorter rolls. The whole operation formed a cubical shaped tent, with two walls and a ceiling approximately 20ft square. The spools ran at 1000ft/min, or about 10MPH. The PP film had been manufactured with dissimilar surface structure on opposing faces. Contact electrification can occur even in similar materials if the surface textures or micro-structures are significantly different. The generation of a large imbalance of electrical surface-charge during unspooling was therefor not unexpected, and is a common problem in this industry. "Static cling" in the megavolt range!
On entering the factory floor and far from the equipment, Mr. Swenson's 200KV/ft handheld electrometer was found to slam to full scale. When he attempted to walk through the corridor formed by the moving film, he was stopped about half way through by an "invisible wall." He could lean all his weight forward but was unable to pass. He observed a fly get pulled into the charged, moving plastic, and speculates that the e-fields might have been strong enough to suck in birds!
The production manager did not believe Mr. Swenson's report of the strange phenomena. When they both returned to the factory floor, they found that the "wall" was no longer there. But the production workers had noticed the effect as occurring early in the morning when humidity was lower, so they agreed to try again another day. The second attempt was successful, and early in the morning the field underneath the "tent" was strong enough to raise even the short, curly hair of the production manager. The "invisible wall" effect had returned. He commented that he "didn't know whether to fix it or sell tickets."
here is a quote from abc news australia:
New South Wales National Party frontbencher Andrew Fraser grabbed Roads Minister Joe Tripodi around the neck during an altercation in NSW State Parliament overnight.
Mr Tripodi was making a speech in the Lower House about the Pacific Highway, and remarked that the last time he was in Coffs Harbour in northern NSW, the National Party Member in the seat Andrew Fraser was not in the electorate.
Observers say the Member for Coffs Harbour then slammed a glass of water on the table, crossed the chamber to follow the Minister and apparently grabbed Mr Tripodi around the throat.
It is understood several people had to drag him off the Minister before he was ejected by the Sergeant at Arms.
A short time later Andrew Fraser made an apology.
"I wish to unreseverdly apologise to the Minister for Roads and Members of this House for my actions this evening," he said.
"I was gravely out of line in my actions towards the Minister tonight."
Mr Tripodi says he was stunned.
"I just didn't believe it was happening," he said.
"I thought he would stop but he just kept coming at me ... he was out of control, he was like a bull coming straight at me so I was just shocked about it, that's all."
Mr Tripodi says he does not plan to lay charges over the attack.
No matter what they say, now, I’m in love
I do it my own way ‘cause I’m in love
And I can’t keep that song out of my mind
Whistling that silly tune all the time
whistle...
I’m in love
No matter what they say, I don’t care
I whistle anyway, everywhere
I wrote this little song on my own
She said that I’m a genius, I’m in love
My friends say that I’m crazy, I’m just fine
My neighbours stare at me, nevermind!
‘Cause only tells the sweetness of her smile
My supersonic girl, I’m in love
No matter what they say, now, I’m in love
I do it my own way ‘cause I’m in love
And I can’t keep that song out of my mind
Whistling that silly tune all the time
whistle...

but god dammit, the middle of episode one is clark kent saying some cheesy line to lana about how she is the only one for him and he saved up his sex all for her. then the closing scene of ep 2 is them consumating their "love"...bullshit its love, they are meant to be in highschool, which means they are probably 17...and what does that mean? it means they dont know jack about anything except what their sex ed has taught them, which is to stick the blokes 'thing' into the womans 'thing'. *sigh* i hate stupid american tv, it irritates me so much. and yeh yeh, for those who know me, im not the most innocent guy, and for those who dont, ive already been down the "love" road and it lead to a slutty end -_- (ps: im not the slut lol). ino some little kiddies go down the yellow brick road and everything is dandy, but thats only cos they are so immature they dont know they are living some little fantasy that doesnt reflect real life.
why cant tv be clean?...why cant they put these stupid shows on so late where nobody stays up to watch them, and then time shift them enough so that nobody can record them lol (only tech geeks will get what i mean, or those who have been so pissed off by nbc and tivo :P)...and sure, i dont mind if they have some kissing or whatevering, but this show is either clark in a scene with a girl who wants him, or a girl who has him, or a girl who is dominating him. all the while im sitting here wishing my little brother didnt see any of it or pick up any of the stupid lines clark says -_-

i'll leave you alone now.

for a few cents more per litre for a fuel that will last up to half as much more than it's petrol equivalent, im willing to change to diesel.
- firstly, their gmail service is excellent. ads are hardly noticeable, its clean and crisp, very nice.
- then there's google print. google had the brilliant idea of bringing the world of printed books online and they have done well with it so far. i can read my university textbooks online, search for things in them (which is very timesaving) and allows for much better use of the books. i think google print is a really great project.
- although im not in san francisco, i am so happy that google got to roll out their free wifi there. it really is a step forward to making digital online content easier to access.
- another thing i cant really take advantage of is google maps. america only right now, but one of the smartest map servics out there. they can be customizable so much that i have found on one site they use google maps to put waypoint and when a waypoint is clicked, you can actually view live feeds from new york city street cameras. that is the kind of facility we need to allow further development to occur.
- google earth and google moon are probably the most fun aspects of the google group. letting people grab the earth or moon and zoom in to the level of seeing peoples houses and front gardens is i think very very exciting :)
- not only that, but google video is allowing video content to be easily searchable, easily accessible to everyone and anyone.
- google blog search which was recently unveiled allows people to find blogs and read them, in topics which THEY want to know about.
- and lastly, to tie in with their blog search, google announced yesterday their google reader, and online rss reader. i have been waiting for a nice clean one to come along and now it has.
whats even better about all of this, is that all of those things above, including google search is all rolled together, because it is all provided by google! allowing such a rich integration i feel is one of the major strengths in google's business plan and it will see the comapny much further than most others like it.
about 3 months ago i started having a problem. thunderbird began running really slow on my system for some reason and i didnt know why. it wasnt the ram, it wasnt the hdd, it was just slow. anyway, i was all for the open source stuff. i stand by it simply because in more cases than not, its extremely reliable, and has features real people use.
anyway, i didnt want to have all my rss feeds sitting in thunderbird and no way to transfer them...3 months later after much searching (there was uni, food and sleep in between search sessions :P) i finally discovered a way to export all my feeds using opml, something thunderbird doesnt support by default. so i installed it and tried other rss readers, like netnewswire, newsfire (which is the first one i used when starting with rss when it was still free in beta) and the like. all of them were good until newsfire went out of beta, and netnewswire became kind of sluggish. lately i have been using this new one, called vienna. it is free, i can do all the stuff i couldnt do in netnewswire, like search and flag news items. i can even still have smart folders to keep my feeds in etc.
i now use apple mail for my mail and vienna for my rss. if it were up to me, i would still use thunderbird for both, because to me it sems logical to check my rss while also checking my mail. but it has become a project that i think is becoming a bit too cumbersome in areas it shouldnt be, and hence slowing down.
everyone should definately try vienna. it has custom styling, is very very fast (even faster than netnewswire when refreshing feeds and viewing them) and has the added extras i enjoyed in thunderbird. and best of all, its free!
"Elegant, sophisticated, rebellious, alternative and eternally fashionable, black has become virtually synonymous with chic and style. But while this colour is often present in avant-garde creative work, no one has ever dared to use it for toilet paper until now. Black in the loo, how chic and sophisticated can you get?"
