so much for playing soccer in the park...so much for making and painting little models...so much for playing ps2 games...so much for hanging out on saturdays...

most of the time, i can hold myself together when it comes to horrible things happening around the world. i guess its just the desensitization that our society goes through being brought up with this horror around us all the time. but occasionally, there are the senseless acts of violence that happen close to home that shake me up and i cant stop the tears from flowing. call me weak, but its just the way i am. this is why;

An eight-year-old girl allegedly murdered in a Perth shopping centre was attacked while her uncle and brother were just metres away, knocking on the door of the disabled toilet where she died, police believe.

A 21-year-old man was charged Tuesday over the death of Sofia Rodrigez-Urrutia-Shu, who police believe was snatched at random before allegedly being sexually assaulted and killed at the Livingstone Market shopping centre in suburban Canning Vale.

i am not a religious person, but in this case, the Rodrigez-Urrutia-Shu family have my prayers.

YAY! i have been accepted into commerce at curtin :D

i just found out that a classmate from my highschool has been in a coma for the past 4 weeks after being in a car accident. she was the dux of our highschool and the top of her class at her university. my thoughts are with you chloe.

i have some unfortanate and upsetting news. a family friend in darwin was going to go to england soon to see her friend who has been suffering with cancer, but her friend died last night. r.i.p audrey.

well today was very kool, first of all peter came over and brought me a chomp which was so yummy ^_^ (i ate it before typing this hehe thankyou petey!) and then we went to carousel for lunch and to meet the other guys...when we met them, we all headed off to go karting (elim somehow managed to go to the shoting range while we all went to go karting, even though go karting was his idea lol) and anyway he finally arrived and then we went had 3 10 minute rounds, which was lots of fun ^_^, i had cars 12, 8 and 9 in that order (they are all pretty fast, last time i had 9 aswell and kept skidding out of control lol but this time it was more controllable)...my fastest time in car 12 was 26.62 seconds, in car 8 it was 27.07 seconds and in car 9 it was 26.35 seconds...my average in each was 27.67, 27.69 and 28.6 seconds.

had a few prangs though lol, first one was with jon, we both were really close (i was behind) and i think he skidded round and instead of me pushing the brake i pushed the accelerator lol, and then alvin came and slammed into the side of me lol (i have 2 big bruises on my back from that accident v_v) and the second one wasnt including me, elim and alvin had somehow hit and elim was blocking like half the route lol, so someone had to come and reverse him and set him back on path. very funny it was lol.

after that we headed off to the shooting range, which was interesting, we had training for like half an hour where the guy showed us how to handle a gun and how to load bullets, and to make sure it was safe and how each one worked. we looked at a pistol, a semi-auto and a rifle. then we went into little cubicles and got targets to put up and shoot at. i was sharing a cubicle with peter cos there weren't enough or something. anyway so we were shooting away and he was pretty good!...then i started shooting and he reckoned i was much better than him but personally i reckon he was much better :)...the rifle was so heavy too!...there was a metal rod attached to the base of it so we couldn't turn it back into the cubicle, and we each took turns of holding the rod so the one firing didn't have to hold the entire weight of the rifle. it was cheating a bit but yeh doesnt matter hehe.

after shooting, we went to hotpot in northbridge and that was good, ate there and then after that we traipsed over to tea fusion (i hate their bubble tea lol, not as good as utopia) and then we all went off home!

so overall we had a pretty good day :)...and now im probably going to go to sleep cos im tired and my back hurts lol...so till next time...

YAY! i went bowling tonight with my lil bro, his sisters and their friends...it was lots of fun, i came second last int he first game but first in the last game ^_^

anyway im tired now so im going to sleep...night!

something interesting happened on my way to the office today, i was tavelling through the graham farmer freeway tunnel and as they do, when a vehicle has stopped, a voice comes over the loudspeaker announcing that the driver of said vehicle should proceed to the nearest telephone and get in contact with tunnel management. now what was interesting was they have gotten rid of the loudspeakers in favor of a multi-spectrum radio frequency hijack, in which they essentially block all radio waves travelling within the tunnel while they are broadcasting this message, and actually hijack every radio frequency and broadcast their own message over it.

so im driving along listening to 92.9 (my fav radio station), and they dont block the radio waves all the time, only when they have a message to broadcast, anyway im driving along and halfway along the tunnel my radio suddenly drops out. it doesn't go crackly and die away, it cuts out. then this man's voice says the message that once used to come over the loudspeakers. i was really freaked by this as i was speeding at the time (hehe ^_^) and i though they had caught me and were broadcasting a message somehow into my car (they have a similar system in india's taxis, where each one has a loudspeaker and if they are being chased by the cops, the cops actually speak to the driver one-way through the loudspeaker. luckily for me this wasnt a situation like that. but i thought i would mention it here. for my friends who read this and who go through the graham farmer tunnel, stop on the side and see if the guy comes and tells you to go to the nearest telephone. oh and check to see if you can press 0 and get an outside line cos i'd like to go and make long international phone calls to my overseas friends ^_^

well i got my new passport today with its super cool fancy electronic chip embedded into it. apparently the chip stores my photograph, name, gender, date of birth, nationality, passport number, and the passport expiry date...and whats cool is that th australian government is investing in facial recognition technology to coincide with the release of the "ePassport", which will be used as identity verification!

well well well peoples. i am back in perth, and i miss darwin already. quite a bit happened there, but i wont bore u with the GORY details, but i will sum up the interesting ones;

darwin now has a...JB HI-FI!!!! omg when i walked round the corner expecting to see liquorland (where in fact i was headed) there no longer was a crappy booze store but the most beautiful, huge JB HI-FI store of all!!! much better than the perth ones, i have to say, very very big and full of techie goodies :)

i find that there is no life in perth. nobody seems to have any spontaneity around here and it pisses me off. u have to organise and make huge plans to go out with friends, and its annoying. in darwin we rock around and we just go out! none of this "oh lemme see if im busy" bullshit. and when u walk down the street, people smile and say hello. oh no, non of that here in perth, its people busy with their newspaper or their bags and avoiding eye contact. argh.

of all the times a baby bird could have broken its leg on my lawn, it had to be while i was there. so i picked it up, nursed it, but alas it died. cruel mother nature, so cold and unforgiving to baby birdies *grr*

and ooo eee tthis one is exciting. i was wearing all white (black shorts tho) and i was busy talking to hoppy, heather and their parents (cos we are all good friends there) about how laid back the territory is and how i yearn to be back there on a more permanent arrangement. next minute around the corner comes this ute towing a trailer full of fronds, and its on fire!!! so kevin (hoppy's dad), hoppy and me jump up and race over to help, we had to get the lawn mowers off and other flammable stuff otherwise the fuel tanks might explode. so we are pulling them off and then there was a frantic carrying of water in buckets from the pool to dump on the fire. it was about this time i was regretting wearing so much white, and expensive white at that, and also wondering how fucked up we would be had we been in perth cos nobody has a pool unless they have money (which thankfully i do lol)...anyway here is the first video of me running with kevin and hoppy towards the blazing trailer, and the later one is of the extinguished but still smouldering fire and me whinging about my dirty hands. beware they are really REALLY grainy cos they are off my phone, but u can gather that the black dot is the trailer and the huge orange part is the flames going 3 times as high as the trailer.





and what else...got to see all my friends, it was really good, im so proud of them for what they have achieved with their lives so far, and i hope i can go back soon to see how they are going :)
